[homage] SET

Eileen came over today and gifted me with a deck of SET cards. I have wondered how I managed to not played a game of SET (nor Pinnacle, nor Magic-The-Gathering) through college. But now I've earned one more point on the nerd test, and added one more candidate that can be modified into a good drinking game. Excellent.

[tech] Twiki

---+ [tech] Twiki

---++ How I Finally Needed TWiki
    * The table of content with 40 chapters
    * The network folder where all things are but nothing can be found
    * The project with just-in-time requirements
    * I seem to have completely mangled the styles in the Word doc
    * I am always locking everyone else from editing the document

---++ Why I Love TWiki
    * Separated namespace under each web
    * Log showing who has changed what topics recently
    * Predictable mark-ups, which mak beautiful pages
    * Gorgeous tables with alternating colored rows and column sorting
    * Collaborate with TWiki. It does what it says.

[tech] Ruby Rocks

Woke up too early today. So I spent the morning playing through the rocking Ruby tutorial at Guided tutorial with an interactive fully-working in-browser interpreter. Absolutely beautiful. I wish I made it.

Some fun bits:

>> Popup.make do
.. h1 "I should be watching Saturday morning cartoon instead"
.. p ".. but instead I'm playing with Ruby"
.. link "TryRuby", ""
.. end

.. comics = {}
.. File.foreach(path) do |line|
.. url, name = line.split(': ')
.. comics[url] = name.strip
.. end
