Ian asked me a great question today: "If you don't use MS Project, do you just keep the project schedule in your head?"
This led me to realize the rule that I have come to use with project schedule:
>>> For a project schedule to be effective, it must be in every project member's head.
To put the project schedule in everyone's head, the project leader must:
- Repeatedly communicate the project schedule to make sure it is (still) in everyone's head
- Keep the project schedule simple enough to fit inside the project members heads
